Hi! Some time I use Metoprolol for high blood pressure. I have sleep problems, anxiety, I am often nervous. I never before had that kind of problems. Does anyone know what side effects of Metoprolol are? I had argument with my doctor about Metoprolol. When I told him what problems I have he told me that I probably imagine, and he also told me that Metoprolol is best drug for me. What should I do?

Hi! My advice to you is that you should change doctor. All the symptoms you have could be and probably are side effects of Metoprolol. Metoprolol can cause swelling of your ankles or feet, slow or uneven heartbeats, feeling light-headed, fainting, depression, nausea, stomach pain and other side effects. Symptoms which you have maybe are less serious, but I think that bother you a lot. There are other medications for high blood pressure, doctor must change sour treatment.
