First of all, as most of you know, it is a chick flick through and through. It gains you a hell of a lot of points if you feel like taking the woman in your life though. Which is my excuse. But back to the movie...

I feel it should have been titled "Infatuation Actually" as I could only see maybe (and I stress maybe) 2 couples out of the whole movie that were actually in love. Sure you could argue that the overall sentiment in the movie is love, but this would be love in its broadest sense. Most of the time was spent hopping from person to person and having them express their difficulties with "love." They all try to work through their difficulties and manage to pull together at least some time with the person they are after. Most of it was done because "Christmas is the time for love."

I'd say the biggest change that occurred was that some people hooked up. Other than that, the movie drags on for 2 hours and no one really changes. There was no great plot, change, or really any interesting characters. I suppose the characters were supposed to be cute and somewhat identifiable, but I felt they were all very superficial. At the end, it just focused on the happy people and did not even acknowledge how some of the people got completely shunned. These people probably had a wretched Christmas, and they did not want you to leave the theatre feeling sorry for them. If not for the mildy humorous parts and the girl sitting next to me, I would have had a miserable time at this movie. But, it is a chick flick, so I'm sure most of you wimmins will love it.

that does just that! How ironic to see Billy Bob Thornton playing the president of the United States. I was just reminded of what a good actor he is...remember how unrecognizable he was in Sling Blade? Weird person, but definately versatile and good actor. Hugh Grant was fun to watch, as usual. Loved all the stories, even though I had a hard time figuring out how the porn star couple story and the guy who travels to America story fit into it. The movie definately left me with the impression that "Love is All Around Us" (the hit song in the movie). A good movie to see if you're having a bad day or going through a rough time.
