I originally thought this was a movie based on the book by James Patterson (which I haven't read and didn't really know what it was about). Of course, the movie is not based on the book. They are two completely different story lines. James Patterson's book is a thriller, this is a chick flick.

This story is about two people who have lived in the same house on Lake Michigan and become pen pals. Over time, they fall in love, but have never met. The reason they have never met is because they are living two years apart. They have found some sort of weird portal of time centered around the mailbox of the lakehouse. Of course that is completely unbelievable, but it makes a really beautiful story. Yes you might have the ending figured out early in the movie, but wait for it. You'll be glad you did.
