This is a movies based on the popular novel by Nicholas Sparks. I have not read the book and after seeing this film, I truly regret that.

James Garner reads a story to Gena Rowlands in the setting of a nursing home. The story follows the lives of two people in South Carolina in the 40's. She was rich and finished and he was poor and rough around the edges. Their love started at a carnival one summer and ended when her parents said she couldn't see him anymore. Their paths cross again several years later and the girl must choose between her fiance and her first love. The story shows how love can conquer the test of time and sickness.

If you've ever been in love, you'll like this movie. If you've ever had a moment you would die for with someone that you love, this movie is wonderful.

Bring Kleenex. Even the guys were crying. You'll laugh too.
