Today I was paid a visit by a local meat dealer. Apparently they were visiting my other neighbors and thought I might be interested in their services. They brought the boxes of meat in and showed me their porterhouse, tri tips, ball tips, rib eye, chopped sirloin, all beautifully marbles and just yummy looking. Then he brought in the seafood, which did not thrill me much except for the mahi-mahi and sushi grade red snapper. I also took a huge bag of shrimp.

Everything is flash-frozen and they guy said I only needed to pop the meat/seafood in cold water for 15 minutes. Being the skeptic I am, I fished out a tri tip from the freezer and immersed it in cold water for 15 minutes (even set my timer). I am happy to report that it thawed just as he said and is now sizzling on the grill...

Red meat definitely wags this pregnant dawg's tail... ;)
