What do you think about the side effects of statins used to lower the plasma cholesterol level? I have a sinking feeling that I am going to end up with a prescription for one of these by the end of the month, because that is what my recent doctor visits have been leading up to. Of course, I am more than happy to get medical help. But what can I expect as far as side effects go?

Worrying about side effects of medication is totally normal and understandable. I know I have done that myself as well. With any drug at all, once you have read about the side effects that can possibly but not all that likely happen to you, it's common to be scared of taking the drug. Mind you, nausea, headaches, and some loose stools are not that bad in comparison to high plasma cholesterol levels. Don't worry, just do what your doctor says.
