Anticoagulants and Thrombolytics

Anticoagulants prevent blood from clotting while Thrombolytics dissolve and disperse blood clots. Anticoagulants include Warfarin, Heparin, Certoparin, Bivalirudin, Dalteparin, Enoxaparin etc. Thrombolytics include t-PA, reteplase, tenecteplase, anistreplase, streptokinase and urokinase. My husband is taking 3 medications for high blood pressure,smokes. Is alchol dependant.has had a blood clot in his leg,takes aspirin,when he cuts himself shaving he bleeds for at least 15/20 mins now doctor is talking about him taking warfarin.is this a good idea ?

I have been taking warfarin for nearly 5 years and I have gained 3 stone , I eat healthy exercise etc etc the weight carries on upwards driving me crazy why won't it be stated that warfarin does indeed cause weight gain

Gas pains after coming off of Coumadin, her stomach is easily irritated

My daughter has just gone off Cumadin....tried eating salad and green leafy vegetables, spinach.  Has strong gas pains .    Had only 1 glass of wine and upset her stomach.  Is this a normal effect from going off of it?  She was on it for 1 year.

I plan on switching from Warfarin to Eliquis for anti-coagulant> How long should I stop Warfarinbefore I begin Eliquis? My INR today was 2.2. I plan on stopping Warfarin tonight and taking Eliquis two days after. Does that sound OK?

I had two miscarriages in last three years and I’m so desperate. Then my doctor told me that I should do Lupus anticoagulant test. And test detects the presence of the antibodies. I need to do it again next months to confirm a diagnosis. Anyone else has lupus anticoagulant antibody diagnoses?
