Is stretching effective for back pain relief?

I have tight back muscles or at least that is what I think I have. I read about stretching as effective method of relieving the pain in the back. I was wandering if those articles were true. Does anyone know anything about it? I would appreciate any help. Thank you.

Will weight lifting make me lose weight?

since my running has been cut back, :( i have lifted consistently for weeks now. mostly low weights, 4 sets of 15 --some upper body and then higher weight for the quads. anyone experience weight loss from lifting. somewhere in my mind i associate loss with aerobics only.....this is new.

side effects of muscle supplements

My friend goes to the gym. This is ok to me, but he has started using some muscle supplements. He says that he cannot build up muscles as fast as he would like to. I think that he exaggerates. What are the side effects of these muscle supplements? I would like to help him with an advice.

Is using a towel safe for stretching?

If I use something like a towel to help me stretch my hamstrings am I asking for trouble? I'd like to really get a good stretch in, but am afraid that I'll over do it and have a set back.

What are the exercises for abs?

Hello! I wish to know what exercises are meant for abs. Do pushups, crunches, etc form a part of those exercises? Also, I am a 21 year old guy, contemplating to start with pushups and crunches. Will these affect my height growth? Or do contribute to increase in height?   Thanks.

Im in love with dumbell training

i'm feeling the burn from dumbbell circuits and i'm loving it. i can actually *see* the results much better then i can doing machine weights. i pulled my workout from Menshealth Total Body special thing, i'll post it a little later on if anyone is interested.
