Hello. My friend was hospitalized yesterday since she had gained second degree burns. I would like to know whether these burns are serious. I am very worried and I guess that they are not easy since she was hospitalized. What do you think? Thanks for all replies. They will mean a lot to me.

My husband got burned while making BBQ and gave us all a scare. But he says it does not hurt him and his wound has ashy-white color so I really cannot tell if it is worse than if it was red and swollen. I suspect it is more serious and I am wondering how to deal with this serious burn injury?
