I am 54 years old. I have two nodules on my thyroid, one cyst, and an abnormal area on my thyroid. The doctor is wanting to remove my thyroid gland. If I do this what will be the results of this. Will it cause me any problems in life other than taking thyroid harmonies the rest of my life.

how do you feel...do you really feel better or do you feel the same...how long has it been since your one parathyroid removal...i'm due to have surgery 4/2/08....are you taking calcium and vitamin D? is there an alternative to not getting the surgery?
