I've been on birth control for about a year now. About three weeks ago I went the doctor for UTI(urinary track infection). Nitrofur (generic for Macrobid) was prescribed to me and I took it for 10 days. My period isn't due for another week but I just don't feel like I usually do. For some reason, I took my pills out of order but I still took one everyday. I've never done that before and I didn't realize it until Sunday because I thinking I would start my period in a day or two and that would account for my moodiness, sore and heavy boobs, and slight cramps. Then I looked at my pills and realized I had another week of active pills scattered in the pack. What do you think the chances are that I'm pregnant?

so you have taken the dummy pills a week early? you should probably be fine as long as you've been taking the actives regularly, though i'd say the effectiveness has been lowered by taking them a week early, especially with antibiotics i'd say not enough to put you at risk. it's mostly a myth about antibiotics and the pill, most of the data comes from studies done in the 60's! since then there have been studies that contradicts it. though to be on the safe side if you are taking antibiotics you should have any partners use condoms while you are on them and for the week after finishing the course.

as an afterthought, perhaps the reason you feel different is because of the change in hormonal cycle as it is now in conflict with your natural one, your body is still thinking that it should be a week away. also my girlfriend did the same thing a couple of months ago and we had no problems. i should warn you though that you might not feel so great for a couple of weeks.
