this does not answer everything. what is one to do when it's been over a month and they are still having almost debilitating withdrawal symptoms almost unable to function even though they have weaned off appropriately. and it's not even the first time trying to get off this friggin drug??????

You are definitely not alone. I've talked to many people online who are going through the same thing. The withdrawal symptoms can last a long time. You need to either educate your doctor yourself or you need to find a doctor who will educate him/herself on antidepressant withdrawal because this is not to be taken lightly.
