I am 17 1/2 years old and I am on Chateal birth control pills, having been given a year's supply by the local planned parenthood. I have been taking them for about two months, and I want to stop taking them, but could use some advise. They have made me so that I can barely function--I am so fatigued and mentally lethargic, In addition to worse and depression and irritability I would like to know if you can just stop cold turkey immediately or if you have two wean off of them. I also am without a thyroid (due to an inherited multiple endocrine cancer syndrome) which certainly contributes to the confounding of symptoms, But it has been since starting the pill that these symptoms have gotten extremely worse.
So my primary question again is if anyone knows if you can just stop cold turkey with birth control pill (chateal), and if so are there symptoms I should be on the lookout for after stopping?
It is quite amazing that the drug manufacturer pamphlet has nothing to say about stopping the pill, nor do the many drug information websites.
Thank you so much if any of you have anything you can tell me.
