I'm a 33 year old male in what I consider poor health, as I weigh roughly 300 LBS.
As a raging insomniac, I have been taking the generic store brand for quite some time now.
The liquid caps I take are 50 MG/caplets of generic unisom.
I take eight of them because I have built up a high tolerance over time.
It used to be that two would put me out, then three, four, etc.
I have experienced the dry mouth, delayed reaction times, etc.
As far as hallucinating, the most I will ever notice is maybe a little flash of light
in my peripheral vision, or some other movement out of the corner of my eye.
The most I have ever taken at one time is 450 MG and it allows me to sleep for a full night.
I am DEFINITELY concerned about the cumulative effects I will likely suffer over time.
As for now, I need my sleep, so I take large doses of it and usually wake up feeling fine.
I hope I'm not demolishing my kidneys or liver, but I guess I'll worry about that
when I need to get onto the transplant list. I should sign up now...

You're right that you would have died if you had not gotten medical treatment, but it wouldn't have been the 1,250 mg of benadryl that would have done you in - it would have been the massive OD of tylenol! Anything over approximately 7,000 mg of tylenol is likely to be fatal, usually by way of liver failure.

Unfortunately your "nice little balance" includes 8 shots of liquor a night - keep that up long enough and you will be looking for a liver transplant!

i just was browsing your website and seeing what you guys have to say about benadryl
when you said people triped on 500 mg 400 mg ,, i had to trip it to ,, i just took about 600 mg on benadryl
but no worries i was addicted to some real hard sh*t befor so i bet this well be a child's experience

Your good, most people here don't know what there talking about, and some are lucky there not dead. 100mg is fine, its actually the recommended dose in some countries. I take only 150mg a night to sleep and honestly the only thing it does is make me feel tired. Thats the only reason I take it. I don't do drugs or drink or anything at all. I'm 20 years old and weigh 140lbs. I don't have any side effects at all. The only thing is, is im a little grumpy if i take them and am trying to sleep and somebody keeps bugging me or something.

Hospitals will pump your stomach if you have just taken 2 or 3 pills more than the recommended dosage. However, as many people have stated here, there really isn't any need to worry about it unless you've taken like 40 or 50 pills. the lethal dose is pretty high, unless you have a heart condition. Here's an example of somebody that was pretty stupid. This guy took over 450 pills, for a total of 11.5 grams. Not only did he survive, he didn't even suffer any long-term problems.

Researchers in Switzerland studied a few hundred cases of people being sent to the hospital with overdoses, and concluded that any dose of less than about 40 pills isn't likely to cause any harm.

You are a lucky girl, tylenol OD's can cause a slow,and painful death. As for the benadryl, almost harmless, however you will build of a tolerance and take for and more until finally it is of no use to you for sleeping.

I've done this twice. The first time I took 425mg. Everything felt slowed down and that was about it. This past weekend I took 350mg and after about 2 hours I felt weightless. My friend was over and he knew what I was doing, so he scared the sh*t out of me a few times, and I eventually started endlessly moving my legs and I was scared. I came on to read about other experiences, cause I wanted to try it again. After reading all of this, I want to stick to weed. This isn't worth tripping on.

Just a few days ago I took 3000mg of the stuff and a bottle of vodka, my life has been pretty sh*t lately. I'll admit I tried to kill myself hoping it would work, it was preplaned and I'll tell you I hallucinated pretty bad did stuff that people are telling me now that I cant even remember doing. All in all I was out of it for three days almost I've just got myself together and am going to seak medical help. But I'll say the hallucinations where extremely scary and hard to deal with I cant remember much but I do remember being scared and an ex girlfriend has called in the past few days to make sure I was ok because I was sending her weird messages.

Do not try to tell me that taking that Diphenhydramin is safe! My son took 30 tablets of the over the counter Sominex and died! Yeah he was doing it trying to get high. He was 18-years-old. I talked to him on the phone and he was hallucinating. I got to him while he was sitting in his car... he was still alive, but he died at the hospital! So don't you tell me that stuff is safe, you are just kidding yourself.

I tried to commit suicide just a couple of days back. I had planned for 450ml of benadryl with 30 pills of cetirizine and alcohol. I underestimated the benadryl in syrup form. I thought it would be like half a litre of water to swallow. The taste was good but since I mixed it with cetirizine, it sucked big time and I was able to only swallow one gulp at a time.
That left me take only 150ml -- thats still 30 times the prescribed dose of 5ml and I should have eaten around 10 pills of cetirizine as well. I was actually looking for Alprazolam (Alprax, Xanax -- common name), the one that heath ledger had used, but it was a prescription only drug. So I went for cetirizine.
My head was spinning like hell and I was not able to sleep properly. The main reason I went for this technique is to die in sleep, but I had the worst time after drinking this combination. I survived mostly because I did not take alcohol with it. I slept after suffering for 6 hours. I woke up after 12 hours ate a banana and slept again for 14 hours. I still was feeling sleepy and I feel my liver is damaged if my feelings are in a sane state.
Moral of the story: Diphenhydramine is a worst thing to take for committing suicide. Better go for Potassium Cyanide. You should be getting that in any chemistry lab. Thats the fastest way to die. Go to wiki if you don't believe me. I am already in hunt for it. Hope I get soon and get rid of this world soon.
