Hi ladies. I had a MRI done at 4:00pm, I just woke up at 12:30am to get water and restroom, and saw blood in the toilet! I was very surprised. I have had 2 MRI this year, this one was the longest, and the first time I felt heat in my groin area. Intense heat. I even thought that was odd. I only asked the tech about the heat up my back, she brushed it off as no biggie. After finding this post I KNOW that MRI and bleeding is connected, I just don't know what to do about it.

I had my normal period. Went in for an mri a week later. Felt off afterwards. Started my period the very next day. Bled for 8 days. Heavy dark and clots. I had bad cramps and back pain.

Hi!

It's possible that the MRI or the stress of having the MRI may have triggered some hormonal changes in your body, leading to the unusual period you experienced. However, heavy bleeding and clotting during your period can also be caused by a variety of other factors, such as hormonal imbalances, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, or other underlying medical conditions.

It's important to discuss your symptoms with a healthcare provider to determine the cause of your heavy bleeding and to receive appropriate treatment if necessary. Your healthcare provider may recommend further tests, such as a pelvic ultrasound, to help diagnose any underlying conditions.

In the meantime, you can try managing your symptoms with over-the-counter pain relievers, such as ibuprofen, and using a heating pad to alleviate cramps and back pain. Make sure to get plenty of rest and stay hydrated.
