Hello,
three months ago, due to several blood test confirming I have too high cholesterol, my physician prescribed me Tricor, a statin medication that is supposed to lower my cholesterol levels. After a month of taking Tricor I’ve developed now really severe joint pain.
The physician who prescribed me Tricor initially has now told me that there is a chance that statin medications like Tricor cause muscle and joint pain that can last even after I stop taking it, but he also wants me to go and see a rheumatologist, thinking that I also may have arthritis on top of Tricor side effects. If anyone was or is currently on Tricor, did you experience joint pain? How bad was the pain and was it tied to anything else other than Tricor?

Hello Bev,
my dad was on different statin medication - Roswera 20 mg - but something similar to what you are going through now happened to him. WIthin a few weeks of taking the medication, he developed muscle and joint pain, mostly in his legs. The pain would be so bad that it was hard for him to walk.
Luckily, his physician took him of statins as soon as he called in and explain in how much pain he is. At the moment, he's trying to at least somewhat control his LDL levels through diet,
Wish you all the best,
Nicole
