Hello, I am not a frequent visitor of these types of 'open blogs' because I think that, as often as not, they include partial or incorrect information and can be damaging--at least they were for me. So, I want to share my GOOD experience going OFF of Lamictal (with mild to zero "withdrawal." I became terrified after reading horror story after horror story about Lamictal withdraw, so I want to add my two cents: I was on Lamictal for three years, tapered off of it over a period of four weeks (by halves), and it was all fine--no terrible stories. No 'hell.' There were a couple days I felt 'weird,' but I didn't feed into it--I felt much more clear headed after being off and I've been off for two years. For anyone who's going on or off meds, I'd just suggest that you consider that people are more likely to post terrible stories than good stories. Also, it's hard to know how many other issues/lifestyle concerns are feeding into it. Good luck--There's so much that's always coming out about 'new discoveries' of health impacts of meds that I really believe the less medication we can be on, the better.

I didn't know there were withdrawals from lamictal. I clicked on to find out "what they are and how long do they last?" but the only thing that pulled up was 2 sep. e-mails from people with nodescription of..."what they are and how long they last". That's what I need to know: the symptoms, duration and help with.
