I started taking birth control pills (Tri Sprintec) about two weeks ago. Starting yesterday, my breasts have been feeling sore - the right one more so then the left one. They don't look different, they haven't gotten bigger...when I squeeze them though they feel firmer (again, the right one more then the left one). I'm just wondering if this is a normal side effect from taking the pill? Or could it be something else? (I'm pretty sure I'm not pregnant; I had my period and it was definitely too heavy to be mistaken implantation bleeding) Does anyone know the specific explanation, the scientific causes of it?

Thank you; any help is appreciated. :-D

The contraceptive pill works by making your body think its pregnant, so that no ovulation takes place, and thus fertilisation of an ovum cant take place. This is a normal side effect of the pill...some women do feel certain amount of pregnancy symptoms while on the pill...maybe u shud try another one..with a different combination of hormones, the side effects might go away.
