Thank you for your information I want to get off of antidepressents altogether and hearing all the horror stories about the withdrawl from cymbalta is scaring me,The biggest fear is having anxiety attacks. I haven't had one in a long time and it is never a good experience to have one especially with no one to care for your kids when you can't and need to get over something like this.an when you have an anxiety attack you can't function at all.I have made an appointment for next week because that is the earliest i can get in to see the doctor about doing this but i do have seditives for anxiety attacks on hand so i was thinking of starting the weaning process and see what happens while my husband is off work an around to help.we are moving accross the country in a couple months an i we have special needs kids that will need my focus to help them transition which will take a while so if i wait i could be waiting a while.

Hi, I am really hating myself and my decision to take "C". I went from 30 to 60 about 2 years ago (I think). About 3 weeks ago, I decided I had to get off this stuff as I have become a zombie. After 3 weeks, well you know what happens everything that everyone posts. I have gone from Zombie to Insane. I am a living horror movie! That said. I have been off for about 3 weeks and feel I need to begin tapering. I only have 60mg pills. Question is...How and can I start back at 20 so I don't have as far to go in the withdrawl process? Or are we all just a living experiment giving free research to the drug companies? Yep there is the anger I am having a very close relationship with. I am praying someone has an answer for all of us, and soon. I am so sorry for what we are all going through.

I just got advice from my Dr. since i have been off for 2-3 weeks arleady, stay off "C" (Cymbalta). He wants to try to use zanex to help me through. If Zanex does not help I can call and try doing a low dose of "C" and wean down from there. I so want to beat this. I am praying the Zanex will take the edge off long enough for the "C" to get out of my system and that my own God given brain can recover quickly.

I am  so glad I found this site. I have taken Cymbalta 60 mg for about 6 years for osteoarthritis pain and depression. I quit cold turkey about  11 days ago. Thought I was going to die "Literally" All of the mentioned withdraw symptoms. Nerve tingling, "Wa wa" dizziness, nausea flu like symptoms with sweats ,shakiness tremors , the weirdest dreams and difficulty getting to sleep. I tried to quit before but went back on because I was not able to stand the withdraw symptoms for more than a day or two. My God why do the Dr's not tell us how addictive this drug can be. I am still having withdraw symptoms but they are lessening each day. Hope they soon are gone. I find dramamine does help with the wa wa's. On a good note I have been trying to lose weight without success for several months now. Almost as though I have had a sluggish thyroid. Since quitting I am losing at a normal rate. Have lost about 4 lb since last week. I am never going back on this drug. I do not know what I will do if the chronic pain and depression return, but I am not taking this ever again. Thanks, Priscilla

Can't find original helpful suggestions. Was Rx'd Cymbalta for pre op pain. Pain is now gone but the Cymbalta is harder to kick than morphine AND Percocet!

Very helpful forum. I have taken Cymbalta for 3 weeks, with no side effects & I think it was helping. but I recently stopped prozac, norco, and tramadol & I do not want anything that causes withdrawal. I stopped taking Cymbalta 3 days ago, will have withdrawal after only taking it for 3 weeks?

Taper off slowly - it is what will save you..... Go to Vitamin store and get supplements to increase acetylcholene production. Take DLPA for energy and focus. Read the Mood Cure by Julia Ross for withdrawal help. Amino acids, b complex, fish oil, Vit D3, are all GOOD supplements to support withdrawal process.

Try yoga and meditation to help with depression, anxiety.... Will bring calm and focus to your life.

The beads in Cymbalta get absorbed in the small intestine and destroyed in the stomach so your telling people to simply swallow the beads from the capsule is wrong. The capsule protects the beads from the stomach acid to be absorbed in the small intestine.
