My period is always every 28 days on the dot, no give or take, it is always exactly 28 days. I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend and had a pregnancy scare, so the next morning I took a morning after pill, Plan B. After a couple of days, I started to bleed and I thought it would be spotting, like the side-effects section of the information said. Then I realized it was far too heavy to be just spotting and I got my period. My period isn't like usual. Not only did it come 3 weeks early, it came a couple days after I took Plan B, and it is very dark and brownish, more than usual, and it is a thicker blood than usual. It is very very dark, and heavier. I assume that the flow of your period should change after taking an emergency contraceptive, but I am worried. Is this my period or is this just very heavy "spotting"? I assume that this is not uncommon because of Plan B, but 3 weeks early? Is this serious?
I do not have tender breasts, or any other pre-period symptoms, however after taking Plan B I felt nausious a few times, which I also assume is a side effect.
Should I be worried? Or should I see a doctor? What signs should I look out for that indicate that something is severly wrong or abnormal?

I had a similar experience with Plan B. My "period" came about two weeks early. Then I got another one on schedule, but my period is different now. Usually it starts off with a heavy, bright red flow and then gets lighter as it progresses. Now it's starting off light and is dark red/ brown in color. It does last for about 4 to 5 days but I'm concerned because it's not the way my period usually is. Is this normal after taking emergency contraceptive?

I had the same experience. I took Plan B two weeks ago and then last week I had a very short period. It was heavy for a few hours then very, very light for the next two days. My period was a week early at this point. I havn't been able to find answers as to why it was like this

I had unprotected sex and took the emergency contraceptive pill a few hours later. I am not due my period for another week but I've come on it today. Is this normal? Does this mean I'm not pregnant?
