Waiting on PFT but active runner, former smoker. Im not really sure where this will go but this is the ONLY place I've found people with COPD that run. With the exception on the COPD athlete. I guess my main anxieties is that I won't be able to run anymore if there is a COPD diagnosis. The anxiety of it all has already started to affect me, as in I went out for 6 mile run and only did 2 miles just because I've begun to overly focus on my breathing. I did 6.5 last week @10.2 average mile pace. Thats my average & being female & 41 I'm ok with it. However now I feel like I have to keep it everytime or im regressing. Anyhow, thats where I'm at .lol

H there, thanks for posting ...

I understand that you are anxious about a potential COPD diagnosis, as it can be a serious condition. However, it is important to remember that a diagnosis does not necessarily mean that you won't be able to run anymore.

Many people with COPD can still run and be active. It is important to speak to your doctor about your concerns, as they will be able to provide advice and information about what can be done to manage the condition. They will also be able to provide information about any medications or treatments that may be beneficial.

I think here are also some people with COPD condition that still have active lives.

Stay in good spirits, that's most important!
