Hi! My father is at high risk for heart disease and he need to use low-dose aspirin every day. Last few days he’s suffering of annoying headaches. He wants to take some painkiller (naprosyn) but I told him that he first must check is it safe. Are there any side effects of taking aspirin and naprosyn together and what they are?

You have right. It’s not recommended to take these two medicaments together. It’s not safe to mix aspirin with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID). If your father is on aspirin therapy to prevent a heart attack or stroke, NSAID drugs can block the benefits of aspirin and leave him at higher risk of a heart attack or stroke. Tell him to try with different kind of painkillers, like paracetamol.
