I was on zoloft pretty recently for about 3 months. However, prior to that I had been given and tried SEVERAL SSRI's. I decided on my own, to gradually decrease my dosage. I was on 150 mg for a week and dropped back down to 100 because I was so dizzy. When I decided to stop I cut down to 75 for a wk,then 50, then 25. At first I felt alright but of course now I am constantly tired, have brain zaps, pins and needles feeling, nausea and vertigo. Its extremely uncomfortable when I walk and today I was scared driving because suddenly I felt my eyes move rapidly. I don't want my doctor to be angry at me for not telling her but I'm starting to wonder if I should. I haven't taken it at all for almost 4 weeks now. I don't understand how I can have these withdrawal symptoms for so long when I wasn't even on the medication for that long. Is there any way to speed up the detox of the medication naturally? I wish I never started it. Stupid doctors are so quick to say here, pop a pill and not tell you about the long term effects. When all along I could have done it with just therapy!!!! I'm so glad to see people describing things in ways I couldn't to my friends and family. What's odd though is that I had told my dr after I took cymbalta that I felt that way and she never said it could be withdrawal from the previous medication. Which was....ta da...zoloft. I tried it first and went off and tried others because of the sexual side effects. ultimately I decided zoloft was the best out of the 3 I tried. I would say to anyone considering using meds make sure you absolutely need it. I know and do not disagree that some people do. I also know though that there are many who can do it without meds so don't let someone choose for you like I did! Good luck to everyone! I hope we all end up feeling how we want and more so how we NEED to function and be happy in life.
