This exercise targets: abdominal muscles
For this exercise, you will need: an exercise mat
Lie on your back with your arms straight behind your head. Your legs should be straight and “locked” at the knees.
Raise your arms and right leg, and bend at your waist at the same time. Return to the starting position and repeat the movement, but this time lift up your left leg.
Tips:
Make sure your legs are locked at your knees.
Breathe naturally and avoid holding your breath. Exhale during the effort or lifting phase and inhale during the lowering phase.
For an easier version of this exercise, place your hands behind your back and slightly bend your knees. Anytime you want to make an exercise harder: go slower.
Advanced: Your arms are not extended behind your head but at the level of your chest, while holding a dumbbell.
Beginners: 10 repetitions with each leg
Intermediate level: 15 repetitions with each leg
Advanced level: 20 repetitions with each leg
