When there is a maxillofacial surgery with wiring or bone grafts, usually or often the teeth have to be wired together so they can’t move, and this is not only unpleasant and uncomfortable, but interferes, obviously, with chewing. So for probably six weeks, everything goes into a blender and is taken in through a straw. It’s not fun. So this is a surgery you better need severely before you entertain the idea of doing it.
