What are a runner's rights as a pedestrian?

I know there are probably state and co. codes that cover this more explicitly, but in general, what are my rights as a pedestrian out running on the side of the road. I never run on the sidewalks because they aren't continious. Too much curb jumping involved to keep a good rhythm.

What are your thoughts on racing flats?

Hey gang, Does anyone of you race in flats? Not necessarily marathons but shorter distances (5ks, 10ks, perhaps even 1/2 marathons). What are your experiences with them? So far my races are all done in regular trainers...I'll like to try racing flats for the 5k-10k distance (which I will be...

So I'm in a boot.

I had some pain in my foot this last week, and during our track meet that friday my foot was killing me after the 3200. So I went to a doctor and got an x-ray, and a stress fracture shows up. So he gives me this huge boot, and says I'll need to be in it all the time for about 4 weeks, then another...

pain in arch/midfoot, what does it mean?

What does it mean when I have a pain from the middle of my arch through the bottom of my foot on both feet when I run. I know it is because of my new asics , I just want to know if there is a feature here that is causing it and what to avoid.

Should i run if a hill is to steep?

Some of you may remember the unbelievably steep hill from my long run question in Starting Line. 9% grade, 1/4 mile long. On the way home on my long run I walk down it to save my knees Should I bother or just run it? It is s-t-e-e-p.

Does anyone use treadmill incline feature?

Answered by a doctor

Anyone use this feature much? I always have mine set at 2.5, for some resistence. But, it also has these hill programs on it. I don't think I have been scared to try them, I just haven't yet. Anyone used them? If so, do you like them? I love hills outside (honest!) and get sick of the flats in...

Burning calories on a home trainer efficient as running?

Answered by a doctor

It’s already fall and the weather is already cold. I can’t go and run as I used to during the spring and summer, and I don’t want to gain weight over the winter so I’m thinking about buying a home trainer. Do you think it’s as efficient as running for burning calories?...
