I have started lifting a couple weeks back but have only had time to do so once a week. Am I going to see any benefit from this or am I wasting my time? Also runing the day after my work out is tough, and my legs feel dead. does it get easier? I am not lifting to failure just enough to get a...

Anyone done the Body-for-Life program?

I picked up the book for my wife the other day at the library (even though she didn't want to read it). I read the parts about the program and skipped all of the motivational fluff. I'm not going to adopt his plan for myself because I have a different set of goals, but I was wondering if anyone...

Ironman training why do we do it?

Why? Why am I putting myself through this crappola. 20+ hours a week and that does not include the lifting and stretching and massages. The hours are long, the recovery is forever. My muscles are tired and sore all the time. I cannot eat enough food and yet continue to lose weight. I spend more...

Is there any way to go to a gym and still cheat doing workouts?

Don’t attack me when I ask you a question. Here’s what, I’m in my high school swimming team and my coach wants me to work on my strength and insists that I should go to a gym and do workouts. The fact is I don’t like workouts and I’d rather skip them but he’ll...

How does one calculate gains from stretching?

What kind of gains should someone be seeing from a regular stretching routine? I've had two doctors tell me that my ham strings are tight because that's the way God made me but that I still need to stretch them. I've been doing a pretty consistant stretching routine for several months and I really...
