hi! im a 27 year old male. ive recently lost my job and med insurance. so was forced to stop taking all of my meds cold turkey. scarey! i constantly feel either very hot or very cold. sometimes both at same time? i also get twitches, almost electric like pulses in arms shoulders and head around temples simultaneously. i dont drink but constantly feel dizzy similar to that of being very drunk. when i walk my feet feel weird like i dont really have my feet on the ground, and my head feels as if its spinning. no joke. i was at the hospital all day today and got a ct scan, ekg, and chest xray, all came back normal. the dr. on staff re prescribed my meds but at lower doses and in generic form. oh and they also checked for an inner ear infection but there was no sign of that either. stress seems to love to follow and haunt me regardless of my relaxation methods(meditation and an occasional joint) my family and friends say im a hypochondriac and its all in my head, but its oh so real. i want to cry, whats wrong with me? why arent there any answers? could it just be withdrawal from the meds? should i wait it out or refill my scripts? has this ever happened to you? please respond, all feedback and suggestions are greatly appreciated. thank you

I have recently started taking this med too - in the uk - though it's called Seroxat here. There has been negative press here in the past about this drug because of the side effects that CAN occur when you come off them.

One of the side effects I read about was this electric shock type feeling you're describing.

I know I was told by my own doc that when I eventually come off them I won't be allowed to stop suddenly but will be weaned off gradually.

Hope this helps.

Do a google search on paxil/seroxat - information/side effects and you may be some more information.

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon. It's terrible you just had to stop your meds for financial reasons. Here, this wouldn't be allowed to happen, much as people complain about the NHS.

Paxil is notorious for its withdrawl effects. I've heard some of the symptoms you are describing by people who have quit Paxil and they refer to them as the "zaps".

Do a search on Paxil side effects on WEBMD and you will get a lot of information I would think.

Best of Luck
