I took a pill on days 1, 3, 5 and 6, missed 2 and 4, and stopped taking after the 6th. Today I had pink spotting followed by a lot of bright red blood. My period normally wouldn't be due for 12 days. It usually starts dark brown and then becomes dark red. Is this strange period a sign of messed up hormones, or could it be a sign of pregnancy?

IT IS VERY NORMAL to bleed after you stop taking birth control pills. ALL A 'birth control' period is lack of hormones making you bleed.... YOU stopped taking hormones so now you are bleeding..

BUT soon, very soon YOU WILL be at risk for pregnancy, and because you stopped taking the pill you may not know exactly when you ovulate. Use may want to use protection if you DO NOT want to risk pregnancy.

I am having the same problem, i was on the pill for a short time and now i am bleeding 2 weeks before my period is due. However, i lost my virginity recently, and had unprotected sex. i am not pregnant, but after having sex about 6 times it still hurts and i have been bleeding for the last week. Even tho the blood is small amounts i am worried. I am confused to whether the bleeding is caused by stopping the pill, having sex for the first time, the sex itself or if i have an infection.
