Hi, my grandmother has lung cancer and she has been prescribed with cisplatin. Is it effective, although I know that chemotherapy carries many risks and side effects?

Hi, I was given cisplatin in chemotherapy of bladder cancer. You should know hat each person acts in different way to chemotherapy. Generally, most of them have nausea, and vomiting after administrating therapy. There are special anti-emetic drugs, given to prevent or greatly reduce nausea and vomiting. The side effects described are not seen in each person. Patients kidneys and liver are the most effected and damaged by chemotherapy. This is not noticed in any way, but permanent damage can occur. For this reason, kidneys and liver must be checked by a blood test during treatment.
