Hello.. I would appriciate any response to this. I recently had my health insurance taken away, therefore I received alot of samples of cymbalta... the 30mg, and 60mg capsules. I started taking the 30mg capsules, but not on a daily basis. I tookl maybe 1-2 per week, for the past few weeks... now all I have left are the 60mg capsules. Can I start off taking those, even though I have not followed the 30mg daily routine for 2 weeks on a consistant basis? Has anyone ever just started off on the 60mg capsules?

It makes no difference starting on 30mg or 60mg with Cymbalta. Even the starter packs the Doctor had in his office were 60mg. They just offer 30mg for people who prefer to take it twice daily but that is pointless. Note, that there is a level of nausea when first taking this drug. It passes, but most advisable to take it with food to reduce this side effect.

I insisted on taking 30mg at first to avoid some side effects, but to be honest, 30mg just isn't enough to tackle the depression. It is too low.

Ive been taking 60mg for a year after initially starting on 30mg for a week. The Doctor said the 30mg is a starting dose only. I dont like the way the Cymbalta 60mg reduces my libido and makes it hard to orgasm. Sometimes I take a 30mg instead and later that day I start to feel my libido returning. Unfortunately, the 30mg is not enough to tackle the depression, so they say. I want to come off this drug just so I can have my libido back. But it's not the only thing that will come back, I know.
