Hi I was rear ended early last year and have been dealing with neck pain and shoulder pain on the right side, and numbness/tingling in my fingers on the same side. Finally, after months of chiro and physical therapy I have seen a pain specialist who has given me first trigger point injections and last facet injections which helped to a certain degree. She said that all in all I could have the Radio Frequency Neurotomy procedure, but now since I don't have insurance she said I cannot have it done. To totally confuse me she said maybe she could do it in another clinic so the cost would be lower, but what I am scheduled for is a cervical epidural steriod. Can someone possibly clarify what the difference is between the RFN and Cervical Epidural, and why I would have the epidural done instead of RFN procedure? There is also a legal matter that I do not want to complicate with all these procedures being done. I seem to really be stuck due to the insurance issue. Thank you for any information, experiences, or input!
