ive bee n gettin my period for 10 years now and i can tell you that sometimes it will be red, sometimes dark brown (oftentimes its dark brown at the beginning of my period OR at the end) blood clots (black gooey stuff) can be present too.
your uterus is cleaning up each month the preparation it did to receive a baby (period), so its sending all the old blood stuff down your vagina.
