same for me!
I stopped taking Belara after 10 years, and I had the same sort of a headache ever since, and it's been a month now! did it get any better? and if so, how long did it take?

I am so relieved to find this post although I know it isn't recent. I stopped taking ortho-tri-cyclen Lo almost seven weeks ago and have had near constant headaches. Minus two pregnancies, I had been on the pill with no breaks for 13 years and stopped taking it after my insurance no longer covered my preferred brand. Ever since then I haven't felt like myself. Higher anxiety, headaches, etc. I am very much looking forward to feeling good again and getting rid of the headaches. I've been worried it's something serious so I'm going to the doctor next week to discuss.

Using the pill for such a long time could turned you a estrogen dominant person. It may be one of the main reasons you are having headaches and mood swings. Try to use supplements that lowers estrogen levels like DIM or Calcium D-Glucarate. Also, you can start a low-carb diet, which helps your ovaries to produce your own hormones

I was on bc pills for 15 years continuously. I never had a period. I was on them to keep my hormones level to control my migraines. Looking back the bc's didn't help and probably only made my migraines worse. I was 53 when I got off of them. I knew it was time to go through menopause and needed to be off of them! I tried cold turkey and had the worse migraine ever! So I literally cut the pill down 1/4 every two weeks. If I cut it too much, I was sure to have a migraine the next morning. It worked! I didn't have the withdrawals. It took a while but I was not trying to get pregnant so I had the time to go through this process. I hope this helps someone.

Being on the pill can be super convenient. Especially when you have a serious partner who you trust and don't feel the need to use condoms.
I don't want to have children and the pill has been convenient in that respect.
Unfortunately, I have been on the pill for 8 years straight...since 16-24.
I noticed within the last year or two, my libido is VERY low. Almost no sex drive.
I also became very sensitive and depressed. Getting angry very quickly and another moment, crying at the silliest things.
I knew something was up.
Got lots of blood tests, nothing wrong with me. No thyroid issues.
I felt like my body had been telling me for a while that those side effects were from being on the pill so long.
Other than the pill, I don't take any meds. I really prefer holistic methods, but I guess I just got so used to the convenience of the pill.
The convenience is NOT worth the hormonal changes it has been doing to my body.
I decided to quit the pill 2 weeks ago.
Look into a book called "Taking Charge of your Fertility" and look online about the Fertility Awareness Method.
We women deserve to learn how our bodies work and keep track of our cycles. We don't need docs just prescribing us meds all the time.
While I learn to first track my cycle and while I am detoxing from these pills, I am going to be extra cautious with my partner. He won't be thrilled at first, but in the long run, my body NEEDS this.
Good luck on your decision.
P.S. I read some women even develop autoimmune problems from being on hormonal birth control. Another side effect I DEFINITELY do not want.

I am going through these HORRIBLE headaches too. Severe pressure on my head and it makes me cry and forces me to lay down. I have been off my pill for 3 days and the pain is so bad! No one knows what to do! The nurse at my obgyn said to go to the ER. Thats just a temporary fix :( Any help! I am in so much pain!

I was on birth control pills for the last 17 years. I too am experiencing headaches everyday since I have quit & decided to look up to see if there was a correlation between the two. I hope that this doesn’t continue for several months.

It's possible your low on iron. I was feeling light headed and they did an iron blood test panel and they believe that was causing the headaches. I have been taking iron supplements and recently went off my birth control pill. I've had a head ache on and off for two weeks now. I am wondering if its my body adjusting to the lack of hormones.

im about 1.5 years down the track, 20 years old now, and unfortunately im still suffering a lot :( i dont think i would even have much hope if i hadn't been seeing a naturopath who through specialised tests has discovered a lot of imbalances in my body, so im working on correcting those, it's just a very difficult, lengthy & expensive process. try you hardest to eat well (as organic as possibly to eliminate excess hormones), drink out of glasses not plastic, don't eat processed, prioritise sleep and DON'T try to keep up with a stressful/fast paced life because it WILL send you further backwards as I have certainly learned the hard way! but i highly recommend naturopathy, good luck

I had/have everything you listed. I took birth control for 18 months, and had extreme migraines & eye migraines just like you described. I've been off of bc for 3 years now. For the first year and half after stopping bc I still had symptoms like you described above. The last year and a half things have improved. Instead of having migraines all the time I only have them before ovulation and 5 days before my period. I still occasionally get eye migraines. The point here however is - the migraines have never stopped. I'm starting to think that the bc damaged the part of my brain that regulates hormones. I never ever ever in my life had migraines (not even for periods) before I began taking bc.

I've had no choice but to go back on the pill :(
