So i am on the pill and had sex with my boyfriend yesterday, i had a doctor appointment to day and was perscribed an antibiotic for a sinus infection. Is it safe for me to start taking the antibiotic or should i wait?ive heard that antibiotics can interfere with birth control and since sperm can live for a while i just want to be safe. Thanks

The best answer would be for you to ask your doctor or pharmacist as they know what you're taking.
In general terms, you can take the antibiotic now. Depending upon the drug it can take several days for it to reach the optimal dose in your body.
Use condoms if you plan to have sex until you are off of the antibiotic.
Continue to take the Ipill as well, unless you were told otherwise.
