I get my period regular every month around the 21st. July I was taking the pill and had my period regularly. Then a couple days after instead of taking the new set of pills I switched to the Depo shot ( on aug 14). My docotor told me  to wait a couple of weeks before having unprotected sex, well we only waited like 5 days. It was the first time my boyfriend had ever been allowed to  ejacutlate inside me. So  since that day he had done it atleast 1-2 times a day. I started having some symptoms. I didnt think anything of it when I didnt get my period for the whole month of aug. But now im having some brown discharge and im confused it couldnt be my period that wouldnt be here until the end of the month. I just really need help.

Hi Guest,

Depo does claim to protect immediately if you start it within 5 days of when your period starts.  If you did then it is unlikely you are pregnant.  You can always take a home test if you want.  Be sure to use your wakeup pee for best accuracy.

There can also be some changes in your cycle from starting Depo.  Common side effects include an irregular OR no period.  Don't expect your period to be regular.

Hope it helps..
