I have been on birth control pills for almost 6 years. I have had problems before with spotting while on birth control pills before and switched off of Ortho-Tri-cyclin. I have been on Necon 28 for the past 15 months. I am 25 and married.
Two months ago, I had a light 5 day period. By light I mean, unable to even use a tampon. This is completely unusual for me. I usually have very heavy periods. A week after the light period, I had cramping and spotting again. I've been lightly spotting most days. I'm on what should be day five of my next period and it is just as light as before. I don't think I missed any pills last month. The month before I may have missed one pill, but took it within 10 hours of missing it as the directions stated. I took a pregnancy test two weeks after my first strange period and it came back negative.
Any ideas on what could be going on with me?

You are not getting enough hormones in your pills for your body.  Why not go back to Orthotricyclin if Necon did not agree with you.
Also, your spotting could be something on the cervix, unrelated to menstrual cycle.   Do you get post-coital bleeding, bleeding after sex?
Each of us is hormonally different and we tend to blame the pill for the problems.  Could be something else.
