Last time I went to a doctor, after intensive analysis (heart enzymes test, ECG and other) it has been concluded that I have heart problems and that I suffer from compensative heart insufficiency. I have been restricted with intake of salt, and I have been taken diuretics, Nifedipine and Digoxin. Is Digoxin toxic? I have heard that from a friend.

Digoxin might be very toxic if used improperly. Its therapeutic area is very narrow. The biggest danger is a combination of Digoxin and diuretics, because this could cause decrease of kalium level, which could affect the heart. Toxicity of this drug could affect the heart. You have to take the drug just the way your doctor prescribed it, not in any other way.
