I'm 16, and my boyfriend and I had sex about three weeks ago, a couple of days after my period ended. Now I'm about three days late, on average. But I've been having on and off cramps but I usually get really bad ones the night before. I couldn't be pregnant, because he wore a condom and didn't even ejaculate in it. The condom didn't rip and we used plenty of lube to make sure of it...

I had food poisoning around the 26th that lasted for two-ish days, and right now I have a yeast infection. Could this do anything to my period? I also read that first time sex can push your cycle back a bit... I'm worried, though I shouldn't be because I cant be pregnant right now. I have most of the signs I usually get before my period but they've been going on for two-ish days. Lower back ache, moody, cramps.

(My periods used to change, sometimes they'd come at the start of the month, then moved to the middle and then they settled towards the end ((18th-20th was usually the start)) but could they be going back to what they usually were?)

My relationship with my mum isn't very good at all, so I only have my boyfriend to talk to and even then it makes him worry about me.

I've been stressed too, my anxiety is a bit high because of the negative talks I've had with my boyfriend, so could stress set it back too???? I just need some opinions????

Hi Guest,

Food poisoning, any illness really, can make your period late.  You can also just be late, many women are after their first time having sex.

Never say never though.  No form of birth control is 100% effective.  However, properly used a condom is VERY reliable.

Hope it helps.
