Hello Emma,
You’re definitely not alone in experiencing the anti depressant withdrawal symptoms for more than few days, as my doc claimed. But did you stop taking them with or without the consultation of the doctor who prescribed you Lexapro? Weaning of with a smaller dose would have made things easier. But either way, did the same doc prescribe you 5-7 different anti depressants within a year? I mean, even if it wasn’t that really might have to your problem a whole lot. It takes up to a half year for most antidepressant medications to reach their full effect for some people. And before this happens, most of us do go through a very rough patch some 2 or 3 months on one, where it seems like you’re only getting worse – but again, some people do experience this before starting to feel better. And there is always an alternative that wouldn’t mess with your brain chemicals – psychotherapy.
Wish you all the best, Nicole
