Hi, I`ve been recently started to use Remeron. It pulled me out of the deepest depression, but I couldn`t get enough of sugar and sweets. So, naturally, I have gain some weight. Also, I have a low blood pressure and sometimes feel dizzy. Is there anybody with Remeron experience who could tell me if there is a link between dizziness and Remeron?

Hi, I`m using Remeron too and hunger for sugar and wrong foods is the typical side effect of that med. Also, those side effects include weight gain and dry mouth. Remeron makes me sleepy all the time. I could sleep all day long. Dizziness and low blood pressure are linked with Remeron, but no so common side effects. Going deaf is also a possibility. Remeron can give you an STD. So, if you now feel like wanna stop taking Remeron, you should go see your doc to reduce the dosage, for beginning.

I have GAD and dr prescribed it to me. I found this NOT to be a good medication for GAD and I have since pursued the consultation of other doctors who agree, including my therapist/Dr. and other psychiatrists that this is not the appropriate medication for someone like me with GAD. This is not to say that it will not work for depression or perhaps a combination of stress and depression...I don't know, that is not my affliction nor am I a doctor. Make sure you have a doctor that actually listens. She ignored what I had to say, and my other long care health providers and prescribed it to me anyway. I had horrible side effects. It made me tired, irritable, achy, destroyed the little sleep that I already get, made me soooo hungry, made my GAD worse, and when I came off it, the withdraw was horrible...shaking, dizzy spells, vomiting... I now take Lexapro which works wonders, I'm happy. Let me stress that you find a doctor with a good reputation and importantly, who listens, one who will properly diagnose, one who will talk to other doctors like your psychologist before they make a snap shot decision(if you have been seeing one for a while like I have), a doctor with insight. The good news is that Remeron has helped many and I wish you the best of health.
