Also I have noticed I have uncontrollable fits of rage and frustration that I have never had before. Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm very angry at the doctor who prescriped it as I was not warned of the excessive weight gain and goes with this medication.

It is very frustrating, though - nothing has made me drop a single pound. And I've been using a combination of Weight Watchers, daily exercise (I used to never exercise at all) and (safe) diet pills. Not a damn pound gone in 2 months.
It's really hard to diet, too, since I'm a very picky eater. I miss french fries!!!!!

So a while ago, i was on Mirtazaphine 45mg for about 6 months orginally. I noticed I put on alot of weight. I was 62kg's then was up to 69kg's. I was very skinny when I first started taking this tablet. Apparently this tablet was first used for Anorexic Patients. what really annoyed me was the face that my doctor knew i cared about my looks and my appearance and yet she still let me take this tablet.
So i tried to Wean off this tablet. For the first 3 days my dose went from 45mg to 30mg's for 3 days, then 15mg's for 3 days. Then nothing. At the same time I was put on Pristiq 60 mg's. I found out that these two drugs together has major reactions. Not only that, 6 days is not long enough to wean a person off a heavy addictive drug. I almost ended up in hospital for this costly mistake. not only that, but the box for the script said to take 2 weeks for 30mg's, then 2 weeks for 15mg's. all bad information as far as i am concerned.
So now as of today i have decided to wean off Mirtazaphine my own way, and with research I have decided to take from 45mg's to 30 mg's for 6-8 weeks, then from 30 mg's to 15 mg's for 6-8 weeks and then wean off them totally.
I am on my 3rd night of being on 30 mg's and i am feeling pretty good. I just thought i would share my experiences with you. I will keep you posted.

So I'm on day 5 of taking 30mg's of Mirtazaphine and I feel pretty good, I feel like a am getting control of my life. My psycholgist is supporting me, but my doctor wanted me to up my dose back up to 45mg's. I nearly did yesterday, but my partner reassured me. Sometimes doctors aren't always right.
I will keep you posted

So it has been a week since my dose has been decreased from 45mg's to 30mg's. I am feeling pretty active and happy. I have heaps more energy in myself for cleaning and cooking, etc. I have 2 children as well. I did have a few little side effects, however they weren't. I had a few mind blanks that happenned a few times, but it wasn't major. Sometimes my words would jumble, but this is because of the medication change, from 45mg's to 30mg. On the plus side I have been more happier and not supressed. My mind is working more faster now, which is great The medication, i think slowed me down. I have going to the gym 2 times a week and bike riding as well.
I will let you know of my progress in a few days.

I am still on 30 mg's of Mirtazaphine. One day however, I upped my dose to 45mg's, not a good idea at all. It made me soo tired the next day and I had no energy to do anything. I decided to go back to 30mg's. The next day I had heaps more energy then the day before. So if i listened to my doctor, I would have felt like c**p!! Not impressed. I'm doing well, i intend on staying on 30mg's for about 6- 8 weeks, If my mood is stable, which it is at the moment, I will decrease to 15mg's, which I am excited to do!!

Firstly I would like to say that I am getting my fighting spirit back. I am going to the doctors today and I know she will question me about being on a lower dose. Why would I go back up to 45mg's? XD I have never felt better in my life for years.
I would also like to point out that I attend boxing classes twice a week and I go bike riding once a week.
I have an amazing "new" counsellor. In one session she has improved my life in a major way. She supports me daily and she helps me because she cares and im not just a "number" to her.
I will keep you posted.

Okay, so I went to my doctors today. Im not going back, she does not believe in me. She used my weakness againist me.
Not impressed at all. Isnt a doctor meant to help you and not bring you down?
Luckly tommorrow I get to speak with my Counsellor. This is all being recorded and saved. Sometimes i think all doctors care about is the money that they are getting. I lost alot of faith in my doctor after she put me on Mirazaphine in the first place.
