Hello, folks. I have been suffering from osteoarthrotis for years. I must admit that drugs do not help me much. I have been recently recommended Hyalgan to use. I would appreciate if someone could tell me if there are any side effects of this drug. Your help is more than appreciated.

Hello, there. Hyalgan is in fact sodium hyaluronat. It is similar to synovial fluid that surrounds the joint. It is usually given as shots. I know some of the side effects that are not so serious. Those would be: joint pain, swelling on the place of injection, headache, etc. Numbness in a leg is also possible. Skin irritation is another thing. Some allergic reactions is also possible, so be careful. You should discuss about all this with your rheumatologist.
