Hi, folks. My mother suffers from arthralgia. For those who do not know, it is pain in joints. Her general practitioner recommended her taking sodium diclofenac to relieve pain and gave her instructions for further tests. I would like to know about the side effects of this medication. Does anyone know?

Hello, there. Diclofenac belongs to a group called non-steroidal anti/inflammatory drugs or NSAIDs. They are mostly used for treating osteoarthritis. They are not harmless, so your mother should be careful. One of the most common side effects is destruction of gastric mucosa. People can get gastritis or even ulcer if take these drugs improperly. Hepatic damaging is also possible. You should consult a doctor for more details. Thanks in advance. Bye!
