There are loads of different brands of birth control, but they all do the same thing..
the difference between them is the dosage. lower estrogen pills reduce the chances of having bad side effects, but there isn't one single pill with no side effects to it whatsoever (otherwise everyone would be taking it!!!!)
the synthetic hormones contained in the pill mimic the early stages of pregnancy to stop the body releasing another egg (because of course you dont ovulate when you are pregnant): this is why we have the side effects... nausea, fatigue, tender breasts... its the body's natural reaction to the hormones that are stopping your ovulation.
fortunately, the side effects usually last only a few weeks while you go on the pills for the first time, but as your body gets used to them the side effects dissapear. For most women, there are no long term side effects at all.
the first pill I went on was Ovranette, I had about 6 or 7 days of mild nausea (I never vomited, it was very very mild!) and a little fatigue, my breasts grew a little, but after then there were no side effects at all, (exept I now had a bigger chest - but who's gunna complain about that? haha!)
Then I went on a higher dose pill a month ago, Ovysmen, I recorded two days of mild nausea, which each lasted about a couple of hours a day. and that was it. I feel completely normal now, i wouldnt even know I was on the pill!!
the protection that the pill provides you outweighs the side effects,
I would encourage you go to the planned parenthood/family planning clinic and try the pill,
of course, if its that unbearable you can always stop taking the pill!
dont trust everything you hear on the internet: the people posting are the unlucky few who have bad reactions to the birth control pill: of course, a happy customer wouldnt need to post any concerns! so for that coupla dozen who are unfortunately having a bad time with the pill, there are untol hundreds who are fine with it!
