:? I was just wondering. I went through a disturbing, shocking experience and for about 3 days I took more of my alprazolam than prescribed. I went back to my usual dosage and I am having like withdrawal symptoms. Feeling numb, unable to concentrate, self-detached, unreality, feeling unable to accomplish tasks that I didn't even have to think about before. Is this normal and how long does it take to get to feeling normal again after going back to the normal dosage? Any information would be helpful.
Thank u,

The same thing happened to me. I took more than what was prescribed for a week or so, and I had the same withdrawal symptoms. People tend to get used to alprozolam very easily, especially if you take more than your supposed to. Im went back to my prescription amount and it took at least one to two weeks to feel like I used to. It will probably be less time for you since you took less though. The only thing that might happen now is that you wont get the same effect from your regular amount any more, since your body got used to more than before. Maybe you need to up your dose if that happens, because thats what I did and it seems to be better now.
Im sorry that was alot of confusing information, but hopefully that helps.

This is a highly addicting drug. There are sights to help you wean off of them. You can have worse symptoms from being on it than what you originally were put on it for!! Get off slowly and never take the poispon again!! Good luck!!

I'm sorry if anyone has lately posted anything that might scare you about what happened recently. I think it's important for you to realize that while you might be in a position to where you are experiencing withdrawal symptoms, they should be temporary. Usually I would say that it takes about a week to get over withdrawal symptoms, although it does last longer in some cases. Bear in mind that this is normal and you should be fine. Has anyone else had experiences here with this?
