This exercise targets: glutes and hamstrings
For this exercise, you will need: a chair or something similar
Stand up straight with your feet shoulder width apart. Grab the top of a chair back or something similar, to brace yourself.
Lift one leg behind you while keeping the other leg straight. Bring the raised leg back to the floor and raise it again.
When performing this exercise, concentrate on flexing the glutes and feeling them do the work.
After repeating this exercise the recommended amount of repetitions, change sides and repeat the same movement with your other leg.
Tips:
Exhale as you push your leg up and inhale as you return to the starting position.
Make sure to perform controlled movement. Concentrate on contracting the glutes throughout the entire exercise.
Advanced: Add ankle weights.
Beginners: 10 repetitions with each leg
Intermediate level: 15 repetitions with each leg
Advanced level: 20 repetitions with each leg
