Hello! I am 32 years old female and I have a problem with acne on my face that I can’t get rid of. I tried almost everything, and now my dermatologist prescribed me accutane. She told me that if i develop any strange symptoms to give her a call immediately. I bought the drug, and when I was reading the manual I noticed that accutane can cause high levels of cholesterol and other fats in their blood. The thing is that I already have high cholesterol which I have been lowering with statins. My question is: Can I use accutane anyway?

Hello! I used accutane and developed dizziness and vision problems, so I stopped taking it no matter that my acne were still severe. Then I read about some other examples of accutane side effects and decided not to take it ever again. I can’t tell you more about your cholesterol, you should talk to either your dermatologist or a doc for the internal disorders or whatever doc that was treating your high cholesterol.
