okay so I was on birthcontrol for 8 years, and while on it my boyfriend and I would have sex, but immediately afterwards I would bleed and then continue to spot through out the rest of the month until my next period and it would go away. So i decided to get off birthcontrol after seeing my gyno. to see if that was the answer but my problem is still persisting. At least 75% of the times that my boyfriend and I have sex i bleed and then continuiously spot and don't stop until my next period, I've seen my gyno. and in fact my mother is one too but no one seems to take this problem seriously, they say to give my body time its changing, mind you i am 23 and have been off birth control for 4 years! PLEASE someone with any insight help me or lead me in the right direction, i am at my wits end!!!!! is this a problem or just my body?

hi have them check and see if you have poly cystic ovary syndrome thats what it sounds like they will do blood tests and an ultra sound don't let them tell you that your body is changing they did the same to me until i finally demanded to get these test done.

I have a similar problem, except it's recent, and following some other symptoms. I've always had inconsistent periods, and about a year ago I started having really painful ones. Like, labor pain without the infant. So, I stopped taking BC. When I did that the pain didn't subside, I just started having my inconsistent periods again. Most of my periods are long, like 8 days, and a few times they've been one or two days. The only thing that seems to calm the period is if I'm sexually active at least three days before it starts. I've had three paps, with no unusual results. I've exhausted my research, and I can't afford a real doctor. I've been on three different kinds of BC and none of them do anything they're not supposed to, while not being on them also doesn't relieve the problems. I know this isn't entirely related, but I've been checked for STD (I was raped years and years ago) and have only been with one person since, who was also only with me. I've been checked several times for cysts, endometriosis, vaginal infections, uteran infections, bowel problems, ulcers, appendicitis, and even miscarriages when I wasn't sexually active. Honestly, I'm in a lot of pain, and at a real loss. I have no idea what to do, and I'm actually pretty scared.

Thanks

Hello,

I know your question was posted over 2 years ago. However I am hoping you will be able to shed some light as I am experiencing the exact same symptoms.
I have been on birth control pills since i was 15, I am now 26. I have been sexually active for 8 years and have had regular pap, std/sti and hiv tests always coming back clean. However everytime I have sex I will bleed (not a huge amount of blood) and then I will continue to spot (brown and red discharge) until my next period. Once I finish my period everything goes back to normal until I have sex again. This has a continuous sycle for the past 8 years of being sexually active. My doctor just seems to think that I have a sensitive cervix and nothng can really be done to help. I have almost completly given up on my sex life as i am sure you can relate it puts a damper on things.

Could you pleas let me know if you have found a cure to these symptoms?

Thanks :-)
