I have been prescribed BCP to take continuously to prevent having a period due to heavy bleeding and irregular periods( about every 3-4 months). I was instructed to take the first 3 weeks of active pills and throw out the 4 the week of inactive pills and start a new pack the 4th week. 

 

I started taking the BCP's the Sunday I started my period, and this Sunday will be the 6th week I have been taking the pills, ever since I stopped my period I have been spotting with a brown color discharged, and occasional a bit of pinkish red but rare, it's usually a brown or pinkish brown color. 

 

This is so frustrating and more than it's worth it feels like I'm taking these so I don't bleed, and I won't quit bleeding!! Help I am contemplating on just not taking them all together and just dealing with the irregular periods and bleeding... I need some advice!
